May 11 2010: Update.

I’m not dead, nor have I given up.. just been very busy. Last year we sold our house, planned to build a new one, ended up buying a better one than we could build, moved in (just before Christmas), had our fifth child (a baby boy), and then a yearly conference that I’m more-or-less in charge of took the bulk of my time. I now find myself staring at quite a few projects, namely the sprinkler system in the back yard, tons of stuff at work, possible iPad development (X-Plane, amateur radio, and a few other person things), and NetFlight, which I don’t plan to abandon anytime soon.

I whole-heartedly welcome our Italian X-Plane friends as well as a few California buddies who seem to make regular use of the server, as well as a few from the UK Dev shed and some former fly-in friends. I welcome a little more load on the system and testing of the plugins as I gear up for summer development.

The next major feature that I plan to add is multiple channels, so that different flying teams can fly together without interfering with each other. (It’s also one of the quickest features to add, I believe.) I also think, with the help of Viking, that I’ve discovered the cause of the tile change bug (i.e. your flying partner(s) go away for a few seconds as you cross OpenGL tiles).
